What About Antiseptics ?

Updated: Aug 25, 2021

We're often asked about the advantages of using OPTI•MIST, as opposed to using other common OTC antiseptic formulations, for first-aid and wound management.

All of the above compounds are very capable antiseptic agents, but the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for each of these materials reveal that considerable toxicity is associated with their use. And yes, including the silver compounds referenced above in section k). They are referring to both Ionic Silver Oxide (clear 'colloidal silver') and Silver Nitrate, the most common silver compounds used OTC (over-the-counter). Both materials are useful antiseptics, however their classification as Ionic Silver Salts makes them toxic to both people and pets.

This is where the advantages to using OPTI•MIST begin to appear. Since safety and efficacy is our first priority, we are now on the cutting-edge of silver science, producing an electrostatically charged (bio-active) silver colloid that, at 0.00025% to 0.001%, satisfy the highest requirements for both user safety, since it's too big to be absorbed by healthy cells, and it's remarkable efficacy against pathogenic micro-organisms such as bacteria, virus, yeast and mould. Compared to the list above, OPTI•MIST products are state-of-the-art antimicrobials safe enough for the entire family, and mammalian pets. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Daily Oral Silver Reference Dose (CASRN 7440-22-4) applied to OPTI•MIST Spray, one may ingest 178,848 servings safely over 70 years.

The advantages, however, don't just end with an odorless, non-toxic, water-based germ killer. Confirmation of the remarkable anti-scarring properties of OPTI•MIST are currently being revealed. Photos coming soon... Best wishes🍀
